Tonight, October 2nd, 2025 - Parent/Teacher Conferences Secondary from 4:00 - 7:30 PM. Conferences will look similar to Open House where parents/caregivers can come and meet with their students’ respected teachers during the 3.5 hour time block. Teachers will be available to discuss students’ progress during this time. It is also recommended to check student(s)’ JMC account to look at academic progress. We also print Quarter 1 Midterms if needed. See you soon!

Note: Bus-Turn Around Area (east lot/blue lines) is for school bus parking only during school days (unless community event). Both West and East Lots are for community event parking including games, Veterans Day events, Community Pep Fest, Graduations, etc... HBC Secondary has doubled its parking capacity with 180+ parking spaces. The senior class cleaned up the ditches east of Hills on Highway 270 today. Hills-Beaver Creek senior classes have been participating in Adopt a Highway since 2001! Nice work Class of 2026!
On September 23, 2025, HBC sophomores had the opportunity to attend the Career Expo at Minnesota West in Worthington. The event offered students a dynamic and engaging experience as they explored future career paths.
The day began with a presentation followed by an interactive career-themed game show. Students then toured the exhibit hall, where they engaged with over 80 hands-on career exhibits. These exhibits were hosted by regional businesses, post-secondary educators, and industry organizations, offering valuable insights into a wide range of professions.
The Career Expo provided an excellent opportunity for students to explore potential career options and connect with professionals from various fields. #HBCLearns

The HBC 6th graders had a fun & educational time at the Environmental Fair in Marshall, MN on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025! The students learned about the invasive species, predators and prey with habitat presented by Pheasants Forever, Reptiles, Minnesota water sources and sustainability, the water cycle presented by the MN Science Museums. These hands-on activities correlate with our middle level science standards and make science fun, educational and relevant. Thank you to the sponsors and volunteers who donated time, money and resources to put on this ELITE event! #HBCLearns

We are very pleased to announce that Sanford Luverne Clinic, H-BC school district, and the Luverne Area Community Foundation will be offering flu vaccines to all H-BC children enrolled ingrades K-12.
We will bill your insurance for the flu vaccine if you have coverage. However, through collaboration with the Luverne Area Community Foundation, all out-of-pocket and non-insured costs will be covered for school-aged children.
The in-school flu shot clinic will be held on
Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
To receive the flu shot, the attached consent form must be completed and returned to the school by Friday, October 3. For more information about this free flu shot clinic, email Lois Leenderts, RN, school nurse, at l.leenderts@isd671.net.
