Congratulations to our 7th Grade student - Penni Moore! Penni was selected to be a member of the Minnesota Band Directors Association (MBDA) 2025 State Honor Band. She was selected from 315 students from 87 schools who auditioned for membership. Penni will be participating in the Honor Band on Saturday and Sunday, April 12 & 13, 2025 at Owatonna High School. Where: HBC Secondary - Room 406 What: Learn about FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid HBC Financial Aid Night will involve an informational presentation from Katie Heronimus, Director of Admissions, Registration and Financial Aid at Minnesota West. Katie's presentation is designed to help seniors and families understand the financial aid process. During the session, key topics such as scholarships, grants, student loans, and how to complete the FAFSA will be covered. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the steps required to secure funding for college, with opportunities for questions. Great opportunity to be College and Career Ready. This past fall HBC Secondary was awarded the 2024 National Blue Ribbon School Award for being a top performing school in our nation. HBC has had a long tradition of excellence and we would like to celebrate the HBC school district by inviting past alumni back to journey through their time at HBC. Dr. John Berdahl, class of 1995, will be visiting HBC Secondary to share his incredible journey from HBC student, to HBC teacher, medical student to world renowned eye surgeon. John will be at HBC Secondary on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 11:00 AM (11:12 AM is official start) to speak about how his experiences at HBC helped shape his success. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students & community (Yes, community members are welcome) to see firsthand how hard work, perseverance and the foundation of a strong education can lead to amazing achievements.
